SLCtoLAXtoAMStoJNB South Africa

Kerry James Marshall, seems like Adam and Eve at Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.....and LAX

But that is Salt Lake International, and the big V. Douglas Snow painting, really a great painting, but could probably be hanging in a better spot, the international terminal at LAX below, very spacious

At the Wits Museum in Johannesburg, getting the story from Vuyiswa about their collection, including the sad story of Mosel Tladi, who painted the landscape, but could not own any land...I wonder what stories a landscape might tells and what stories a landscape painting might tell. There is a temple in Johannesburg, lovely grounds, on a rocky slope, surrounded by tall steel fences, gates, and 3 rows of electric fence; not unusual, rather the ordinary way to do things around here.

In the Apartheid Museum, so many stories, so many sad stories, so many heroic stories, so many buses of children. (that is the artist Willem Boshoff, a sculptor of small ethereal pieces).

In Soweto township, there was not so much electrical fence, and another museum of photographs about the time when there was so much violence here, a record of the time.  I bought a mask, it is not a South African artifact, but from West Africa.
