Great museums in Grenoble, Dore, Richard Long, Hiroshi
Sugiomoto
Traditional dinner for the region, for Paul's and Brooke's anniversary.
Local crag, we found out about at the gym, at the Karben stop. It also is the section of Grenoble, I found out later, where Isabelle is buried.
We took the bus, barely catching it, running through the
streets, to Col de Porte to take a hike up in the mountains, the one we had
planned for two days ago. To a peak
called Chamechaude, it was one of the most beautiful hikes I have ever been on,
out of the trees then onto the rocks and low brush with many switch backs. The problem is that our bus arrived at 9:00,
the return bus was at 12 or 4, either too short or too long. So we hiked up,
sometimes my legs feel like I just want to lay down, other times, they get
warmed up and can hike. I
did not have time to enjoy the view for long, but had to run back down the
trail to catch the bus. It was a steep
hike. The bus ride was beautiful, going
through little alpine villages to the Col de Porte, which looks like some kind
of ski resort. Note one of the only urban via ferratas, up the Bastille in Grenoble.
