Prayer flags, rye, trout, Buddha and simba the dog

I took the long walk down the mountain to the village and then down to the river, looking for the upward path to Karerei village, where the long trail to Karerei lake begins. I found rye fields, small Hindu shrines, school children in pink dresses and blue shirts, and trout in the pools beneath the big boulders. Moslty everyone is very friendly and offer good advice about where the trail goes.

Simba the bakery dog who reminds me of a baby seal. He is very soft.

It is possible to walk around the big Dalai Llama temple, and many people do this as an act of devotion, prayer flags mark the way.

In the Tibetan library I found this painting of a flower, which included little glass jewels right in the painting. There is a hospital close to the Tibetan library and the Tibetan government in exile buildings. This is the mandala of faded flyers.

The burnt offering place
The lights went off, a frequent occurrence, in the little museum in the library, filled with different kinds of Buddhas. I like them best in the dim light.

The fishes.
